First nitrogen fertilization completed in 10 districts of Stavropol

In the region, the first nitrogen fertilization is being carried out at an active pace. In total, more than 1,250 thousand hectares of winter crops were fed, or 80% of the plan.
The first nitrogen fertilization was completed by 10 districts: Izobilnensky, Kirovsky, Stepnovsky, Shpakovsky, Grachevsky, Kursky, Turkmensky, Novoaleksandrovsky, Trunovsky, Georgievsky. Krasnogvardeisky, Petrovsky, Kochubeevsky districts are close to completion, where more than 90% of the plan is fed.
Nitrogen is one of the most important elements needed by a plant in the spring start. it plays a significant role at the stage of active formation of the root system and vegetative mass. Nitrogen fertilizers work not only to increase the yield, but also improve its quality. Also, for the growth and development of plants, agricultural producers use ammonium nitrate, ammonium sulfate, UAN.
“For spring field work, taking into account the mineral fertilizers not used over the past year, 113% of fertilizers from the need have been accumulated. At the same time, fertilizers continue to be supplied to the region's farms in accordance with the plan signed between the Ministry of Agriculture of RUSSIA and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia,” said Elena Tambovtseva, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory.
