A new potato processing season has started in the Lipetsk region

On August 1, a new potato processing season started at the Vee Fry plant.
Vee Fry is the leading manufacturer of french fries in RUSSIA. The production site of the enterprise is equipped with the most modern equipment and technology that meets the highest international quality and food safety standards. The main consumers of products are fast food chains.
The plant with a processing capacity of 200 thousand tons of potatoes per year was officially launched in April 2018 on the territory of the SEZ Lipetsk. The volume of investments amounted to almost 9 billion rubles. Potatois purchased from domestic enterprises, including Lipetsk. The output of finished products at the enterprise is growing every year. In 2022, the company produced 117.2 thousand tons of french fries and potato wedges. For the production of frozen potatoes, the Lipetsk region has been ranked 1st in Russia for 5 years.
In connection with reaching full capacity and the continued growth in the consumption of frozen potatoes in Russia and the CIS countries, Vee Fry decided to double the capacity of the enterprise. At the moment, the plant is building a second production line with an additional potato processing capacity of more than 200 thousand tons per season. This will allow the plant to further process more than 400 thousand tons of raw materials and produce more than 200 thousand tons of finished products: french fries and potato wedges. The amount of investments will be more than 13 billion rubles.
In the new season, which will end in June 2024, the plant plans to process up to 260,000 tons of potatoes and receive up to 130,000 tons of french fries and potato wedges.
Also in the Lebedyansky district, Frito Lay Manufacturing LLC continues processing potatoes for chips. Last year, the company produced 8.2 thousand tons of products, this year it is planned to receive no less.
