From May 16 to May 19, 2023, the XXIII Russian exhibition of breeding sheep and goats will be held in the Republic of Dagestan. By order of the Government of the Republic of Dagestan, an organizing committee for the preparation and holding of exhibition events was formed.
Today, March 31, a meeting of the organizing committee of the exhibition was held in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan. The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Dagestan Nariman Abdulmutalibov, Chairman of the Veterinary Committee of the Republic of Dagestan Magomed Shapiev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Dagestan Emin Shaikhgasanov, Director of the Federal Agrarian Scientific Center of the Republic of Dagestan Nariman Nimatulaev, and President of the National Union of Sheep Breeders NGO Kharon Amerkhanov , Director of the All-Russian Research Institute of Sheep and Goat Breeding Alexander Surov and General Director of the NO "NSO" Mikhail Egorov.
Opening the event, Nariman Abdulmutalibov noted that Dagestan is determined to hold the exhibition events at a decent level. The organizing committee is working, responsible persons and deadlines have been determined. Certain work is already being carried out, and the FARC RD plays a large role in organizing this work.
As Kharon Amerkhanov noted, the decision to hold an all-Russian exhibition on the territory of Dagestan is an objective pattern, since the region ranks first in the country in terms of the number of sheep and goats. And it is important to demonstrate to the guests of the exhibition the results of Dagestan sheep breeding on the site of an ancient region with a rich history.
It is planned to introduce some innovations into the work of the All-Russian exhibition of the current year. In particular, three thematic round tables will be held as part of the event. They will deal with issues of intensifying mutton production, developing mechanisms to increase the profitability of wool production, and, importantly, training agribusiness personnel, primarily for sheep breeding. Work on solving these issues will give a serious impetus to the further development of sheep breeding.
The main objective of the exhibition is to show the breadth of selection and breeding work carried out in domestic sheep breeding, which helps to produce more competitive products at the lowest cost. It is also important to determine the scenario for the cultural support of the exhibition, and other organizational aspects must be carefully worked out.
