Epizootic situation for especially dangerous animal diseases in the world from July 30 to August 5, 2022

For the period from July 30 to August 5, 2022, the World Organization for Animal HEALTH (WOAH) received reports of the registration of 241 outbreaks of especially dangerous animal diseases from 28 countries of the world this year. The corresponding notifications were published on the official website of WOAH.

New outbreaks of African swine fever were reported by Hungary (7), Italy (1), Latvia (44), Macedonia (1), Moldova (1), Poland (38), Romania (6), Thailand (1) and South Africa ( 2). The focus of classical swine fever is registered in Japan.

Highly pathogenic avian influenza continues to affect the poultry industry in many countries. Belgium (6), UK (11), Germany (14), Spain (1), CANADA (4), CHINA (2), Moldova (1), Netherlands (4) reported new outbreaks in poultry and wild birds , Norway (1), Philippines (47), Finland (2), France (19) and Sweden (8). In most cases, the infection was caused by the H5N1 virus subtype; in Moldova, the virus serotype was not typed.

A new focus of infectious nodular dermatitis has been registered in Cambodia, and plague of small ruminants has been registered in Israel.

New FMD cases were reported by Malawi (1 outbreak), Mozambique (1) and South Africa (7). Romanian authorities reported the detection of anthrax in cattle. New World miases have been reported in Panama (1).
