Farmers in Buryatia receive subsidies for electric fences

This method of protecting crops from damage has been recognized by local agricultural producers.
State support for farmers is provided in accordance with the objectives of the national project "Small and Medium Enterprises".
With the onset of the sowing season, one of the tasks of farmers is to protect crops from weeds. Self-walking farm animals destroy crops and cause irreparable losses to farms. The installation of electric fences helps to cope with this problem. Since 2022, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Buryatia has been subsidizing their purchase.
“In order to secure their harvest, agricultural producersforced to erect wooden fences around the entire perimeter of the field. We propose to use a modern analogue - an electric fence, with which you can solve the problem of grass. By purchasing an electric fence, agricultural producers can receive a subsidy from the ministry, which will reimburse 50% of the cost,” said Deputy Chairman of the Government of Buryatia, Minister of Agriculture and Food Galsan Dareev.
Sole proprietor Anna Alekseeva and her husband run a household in the Tarbagatai district. They are engaged in the cultivation of grain crops and beef cattle breeding. Last year, the entrepreneur bought a 25-hectare electric fence and received a subsidy this year:
“We use an electric fence as an electric shepherd. We keep about 70 cows and send them out for grazing, having previously enclosed the territory with an electric fence. On an area of ​​approximately 12.5 hectares, they graze for about a month. Firstly, it is very convenient - livestock does not damage crops; secondly, it is profitable - we do not pay the shepherd, and all the people are busy working in the field. During the harvesting campaign, every pair of hands is important for us,” Anna Alekseeva shared her review.
