Zakharova sees sanctions against Kyrgyzstan as disruption of peace track in Ukraine

The UK's sanctions against companies from Kyrgyzstan deserve condemnation and are aimed at undermining the settlement in Ukraine , said Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova .

According to the diplomat, London has decided to "take on our partners in the CIS space." "The British authorities are not embarrassed by the fact that with their illegitimate actions they are creating artificial obstacles to the progressive development of international trade and economic ties and thereby destabilizing the global economy," Zakharova noted. The statement was published on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

RUSSIA sees the latest UK sanctions as a means of undermining efforts to advance on the peace track in Ukraine. "The prospect of a settlement is clearly repugnant to London, which is de facto one of the main supporters of continuing military action," Zakharova added.

On August 20, the UK imposed sanctions on Kyrgyzstan's Kapital Bank of Central Asia, Tengricoin, the Grinex crypto exchange, and Old Vector, which issues a ruble stablecoin. The UK Foreign Office said the new sanctions target cryptocurrency networks linked to Kyrgyzstan that Russia allegedly uses to circumvent sanctions.

According to Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, the sanctions were taken without concrete evidence of violations. "There is no need to politicize the economy," he added.
