At the same time, he noted that European countries will have to import gas at higher prices. “There are no friendly prices in the market, where everything depends on supply and demand,” said the head of Total.

The energy crisis in Europe has continued since last year, amid rising gas prices and reduced supplies from RUSSIA, preceded by Western sanctions and Moscow's retaliatory measures. In early July, the head of the Italian energy company Eni, Claudio Descalzi, said that Europe was able to completely replace Russian gas supplies within two years. He added that European countries are in different conditions of gas supply, and noted that production in the region has risen in price in the current geopolitical situation.
