Thus, the EU wants to reach an agreement both between the members of the union and with the G7, which includes, in addition to the three European countries  , the usa , CANADA, Great Britain and Japan. According to the interlocutors of the agency, many states agree to this version of the limit, if the introduction of this measure is combined with other requirements.

The last negotiations on limiting the price of Russian oil took place on November 28 and were unsuccessful. REUTERS sources said that an agreement could not be reached due to the position of Poland: it demanded that the limit be reduced to $30. Bloomberg writes that the Baltic countries were also in favor of low prices. And the countries that are engaged in the transportation of fuel, in particular Greece, have taken the opposite position.

Poland and the Baltics have demanded progress on a new package of EU sanctions, while Greece, Malta and Cyprus are asking for a renegotiable ceiling on oil prices, Bloomberg notes.

Up to the level of $62, a ceiling of $65 was offered, the agency wrote. At the same time, Greece, for example, demanded a limit of $70, the Politico newspaper noted.
