The Moscow City Hall has canceled the citywide graduation ceremony in Gorky Park due to the epidemiological situation in the city. This was reported to RBC in the press service of the Moscow Department of Education and Science.
“There will be no city-wide holiday for graduates, which traditionally took place at the end of June in Gorky Park, this year. The decision to cancel it was made due to the fact that the difficult situation with the coronavirus remains in the capital, and there is a significant increase in the number of cases,” the department said.
The maximum number of people infected with covid-19 since the beginning of the year was revealed in Moscow Society
The department also recalled that due to the increase in the number of cases in the capital in large city parks, including Gorky Park, from June 13, the work of entertainment facilities is suspended: sports grounds, gazebos that are involved in organizing the prom.
The department recommended holding graduations in educational institutions, and in case of good weather, holding a solemn part with the presentation of certificates in the open air. “In the premises of the school, the number of participants will be limited, video recording and online broadcasting of the school holiday will be provided for native graduates,” the department added.
