Vietnam is interested in establishing its own production of the Russian Coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V. This was stated by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc during a telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin press service reports.
“Nguyen Xuan Phuc <...> expressed interest in increasing the supply of Russian vaccines and establishing the production of Sputnik V in Vietnam,” the report says.

Vietnam registered the Russian Sputnik V vaccine in February. In July, the Vietnamese company VABIOTECH produced a test batch of the Russian vaccine.
According to WHO, over the past day in Vietnam, 10.5 thousand new cases of COVID-19 infection have been registered, 276 people have died. Almost 18 million people in the country received at least one dose of the vaccine, and more than 3 million people out of a total population of more than 96 million people were fully vaccinated.
