In Russia, 1015 people with COVID-19 died per day

In RUSSIA, 1,015 people infected with CORONAVIRUS died per day, reports the operational headquarters.

The total number of deaths, according to headquarters, is 225,325 people. For the first time during the pandemic, more than a thousand deaths were registered in the country on October 16.

Over the past day, 33,740 new people have become infected with coronavirus. In total, more than 8 million people have fallen ill since the beginning of the pandemic in Russia.

The statistics of the operational headquarters differ from the statistics of Rosstat in terms of the number of deaths, since the latter takes into account cases where the coronavirus was a concomitant disease, but did not affect the death. According to Rosstat, since the beginning of the year, the death rate among coronavirus patients has exceeded 250 thousand against 163.3 thousand people for the entire last year.
