Almost 75,000 COVID-19 infections detected in Russia for the first time

Over the past day, 74,692 new cases of infection with CORONAVIRUS infection covid-19 have been detected in RUSSIA , according to data from the federal operational headquarters. This is a new high since the beginning of the pandemic, a day earlier, 67,809 infections were detected in Russia (an increase of 6.9 thousand or 10.1%).

Most of the COVID-19 infections, as usual, were detected in Moscow — 19,856 against 18,935 the day before (+9.8%). For the first time in St. Petersburg , more than 10,000 infections were detected for the first time — 10,581 against 9,722 the day before (+8.8%).

In addition, the following regions were among the leaders in terms of infection:

Moscow region - 6709; Yakutia - 1710; Nizhny Novgorod region - 1511; Sverdlovsk region - 1364; Perm Territory - 1356; Samara region - 1205; Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - 1113; Rostov region - 1029

During the same day, 12,226 people with COVID-19 got into hospitals, which is only slightly less than the maximum recorded the day before (it was 12,837). 657 people died from the disease per day.
