Over the past day, 9977 cases of infection with coronavirus infection COVID-19 have been detected in Russia, according to the federal operational headquarters. The number of infections per day has come close to the mark of 10 thousand for the first time since mid-March. The last time it rose above this mark was on March 14, when the operational headquarters revealed 10,083 infections.

The maximum number of infections, as usual, was found in Moscow. During the day, 3,817 people were infected with COVID-19 in the capital, which was the highest since mid-May.

In addition, the top five regions with the highest number of infections per day included:

St. Petersburg - 846; Moscow region - 776; Nizhny Novgorod region - 163; Rostov region - 155.

Since the start of the pandemic, more than 5.145 million COVID-19 infections have been detected in Russia.
