Sabantuy in the capital of Tatarstan will be held at 5 sites. The mayor's office of Kazan announced a mask regime and 50% occupancy of the spectator stands

“All events are planned in compliance with sanitary and epidemiological standards. Temperatures will be taken at the entrance, and residents will need to have medical masks with them. According to the requirements of Rospotrebnadzor, the spectator stands will be half-filled, so those wishing to visit Sabantuy must arrive at the place of celebration in advance, ”the website of the city administration reports.

The folk festival will be held in the villages of Mirny and Derbyshki, in the forested area of Lake Lebyazhye, as well as at the hippodrome and in the Uram extreme park. At the first three venues, events will last from 10:00 to 16:00, in the park they will start at 16:00.

On June 11, the HEAD of Rospotrebnadzor in the Republic of Tatarstan, Marina Patyashina, recommended that citizens who have not been vaccinated against covid-19 and do not have antibodies should refrain from visiting Sabantuy. “We do not recommend that unvaccinated people, those who do not have antibodies, and those at risk, that is, 65+, come to Sabantuy. If a person is not vaccinated, for him this is not a place for festivities, but a high risk of contracting a new CORONAVIRUS infection,” said the chief sanitary DOCTOR of the republic.

Yesterday, the head physician of the Republican Clinical Hospital, Rafael Shavaleev, told reporters that 80% of pregnant women hospitalized with COVID-19 over the past 2 weeks have visited Sabantuy. He also noted that there are more young people among patients with coronavirus. Cases of a severe form of the disease in children have been recorded. Doctors also detect the so-called Indian strain of COVID-19 in patients, which, according to Shavaleev, is distinguished by “an evil, aggressive, undulating, strong course.”

President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov signed a decree on the dates of the national holiday on May 19. Sabantuy was held on June 12 in rural settlements and regional centers of the Republic of Tatarstan, on June 19 in Naberezhnye Chelny, and on June 26 in Kazan. Last year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Tatar national holiday was celebrated online.
