In Bangkok and its environs, as well as in four other provinces in southern Thailand, restrictions will be introduced due to the CORONAVIRUS pandemic, in particular, they will limit the work of shopping centers and close water parks, writes Thai PBS World, citing a royal decree. The restrictions will come into effect on Monday, June 28. In addition to Bangkok and the surrounding area, the provinces of Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala and Songkhla will fall under them. All of them are located in the south of the country near the border with Malaysia.

In these areas, restaurants will only be able to operate takeaway, including those located in hotels and shopping malls. Theaters, cinemas and water parks will be closed, shopping centers will be open until 21:00.

Hotels and exhibition centers will continue to operate, however, seminars, banquets and meetings with a large number of participants will not be held in them.

The number of participants in events should not exceed 20, unless a special permit has been issued by the sanitary authorities. In the event that an outbreak of covid-19 is detected in any establishment , provincial governors may close it.

Authorities said last week they were still planning to reopen the island despite a rise in COVID-19 cases in the country. Tourists must be vaccinated with vaccines approved by the World HEALTH Organization (WHO), they must be from countries with a low or medium risk of spreading coronavirus. After two weeks, during which they can leave the hotel room, tourists will be allowed to travel to the rest of Thailand.

In total, 244.4 thousand cases of COVID-19 were registered in Thailand, over the past day, infection was detected in 3.9 thousand people. 1.9 thousand people have died since the beginning of the pandemic.
