In 2022, the Kazan Helicopter Plant plans to assemble 111 aircraft, next year - 106. The expert believes that these plans are feasible, and a few years ago, the plant also assembled a larger number of cars

As the press service of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan reported today, today Rustam Minnikhanov met with the staff of the Kazan Helicopter Plant.

Nikolai Kolesov, General Director of the Russian Helicopters holding, plans to assemble 111 helicopters in 2022. The company has orders for subsequent years, the plan for 2023 is 106 helicopters. According to him, in previous years, 200 cars were assembled at the Kazan Helicopter Plant.

“The enterprise is provided with orders, we know what Kazan Helicopter Plant will do this year, there are contracts for 2023 as well. For our part, we will also support you,” Minnikhanov said.

According to Kolesov, 400 people were employed at the enterprise. Now the plant employs 5.3 thousand people.

“There are two things to pay attention to. The first is that the plans announced for the current and next year are far from record breaking. If we do not take the period of operation of the helicopter plant in the Soviet Union, when the production rate was higher, then in the recent history of the enterprise there were precedents when the production program exceeded 100 aircraft. It was quite recently. The decline in 2019 and in general over the past few years is due to the fact that the main orders for heavy helicopters were fulfilled both within the framework of the state defense order and through military-technical cooperation. At the same time, the program aimed at the formation of the Ansat park for sanitation was launched a little later. And only after its launch, sales and, as a result, the production of Ansat and Mi-8-MTV-1 helicopters of various modifications intensified significantly,

According to him, now there are certain questions solely on the implementation of the production program for the Ansat helicopter, given the problems associated with the supply of Canadian-made engines, which is limited due to sanctions. However, the issue, the expert noted, should be resolved in the near future. The company is working on a domestically produced VK-650 V engine.

Panteleev recalled that at the HelliRussia exhibition, Ramil Khakimov, First Deputy General Director of Russian Helicopters, announced plans to remodernize Ansat helicopters using a Russian engine.

“Moreover, the remodernization of previously delivered helicopters to the Russian engine will be carried out, which can also provide an additional amount of work for the Kazan manufacturer. I do not predict any supply problems for other helicopters, namely the Mi-8-MTV-1, Mi-3 "and various modifications of the Mi-8 helicopters," the expert said.

Last year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan, 45 helicopters were assembled at the plant, 42 were sold.

Kazan Helicopter Plant has been reducing the number of vehicles sold since 2014. Then 107 helicopters were sold, in 2015 sales amounted to 77 aircraft. In 2016 - 70, in 2017 - 62 helicopters, next year - 52. In 2019, sales fell to an anti-record 27 helicopters. The year before last, they rose to 39.

Nikolai Kolesov was elected CEO of the Russian Helicopters holding at the end of November 2021. On December 7, a new general director was appointed at the Kazan plant, it was Vladimir Ginsburg.
