The head of French military intelligence, General Eric Vidot, will leave his post ahead of schedule due to the fact that his department could not provide the French leadership with enough data about Russia's intention to launch a military operation in Ukraine. This is reported by sources of the newspaper L'Opinion, as well as the AFP agency and the publication France Info.

The general learned about his resignation from an email sent on Wednesday, March 30. Vido was fired due to "insufficient information" and "poor awareness on the topic," the publications write, citing military sources.

According to AFP, information about the dismissal of a high-ranking officer appeared a few days ago. it was expected that Vido would be appointed to another position, which in the end did not happen.
