The social network FACEBOOK has published a report according to which the majority of accounts that the social network deletes due to suspicions about their authenticity were registered in RUSSIA and Iran, BLOOMBERG reports.
So, according to the report, since 2017, Facebook has removed 50 groups of accounts from Russia and Iran for actions that are contrary to company policy. They added that nine such profiles from the US were removed .
The report notes that U.S. users have been the target of at least 28 campaigns since 2017 to influence them. Ukraine became the second country in terms of the number of registered attacks - 11 networks were “targeted” at it.
“One of the consequences [of Facebook's actions] is that the perpetrators no longer get as much reach and attention,” said Nathaniel Gleicher, Facebook's HEAD of cybersecurity.
