
The European Commission allocated 600 million euros to Ukraine as part of macro-financial assistance (MFA) - this is the second and last tranche under the current program, the first for the same amount was provided in December 2020. After this tranche, the amount of loans provided to Ukraine under numerous macro-financial assistance programs reached 4.4 billion euros, Brussels noted.
“This payment is part of GIF’s €3 billion emergency package for ten Enlargement and Neighborhood Partners, which aims to help them limit the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic . This program is a concrete demonstration of the EU's solidarity with its partners to help combat the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We provide support to Ukraine within the framework of the EU macro-financial assistance program in the amount of 1.2 billion euros. The second tranche of 600 million euros allocated today is a clear sign of the EU's support for Ukraine's reform agenda. Ukraine has made significant efforts to meet the conditions of the IFP, and has also made satisfactory progress in working with the International Monetary Fund.
