Incomes of hotels in the Kuban grew despite the ban on settling the unvaccinated

Hotels in the Krasnodar Territory were able to earn despite the ban on accommodating guests without vaccinations: revenues in August 2021 were almost 70% higher than before the pandemic. There were fewer guests

In August 2021, hotels and other accommodation facilities in the Krasnodar Territory earned about 11.3 billion rubles from the provision of paid services to the population, follows from Rosstat data analyzed by RBC. Hoteliers' revenues were 9% higher than in August 2020 (RUB 10.3 billion) and 69% higher than in August 2019 (RUB 6.7 billion).

The revenues of sanatoriums in the Kuban also increased: for example, last August they amounted to 5.7 billion rubles, which is almost 2% more than a year earlier, and 29% more than in August 2019.

On the other hand, the income of another tourism-related business, public catering organizations, on the contrary, fell - in August 2021 by 15% year-on-year, to 9.4 billion rubles. Compared to August 2019, the indicator decreased by 2.5% (9.7 billion rubles). Services of travel agencies, tour operators and other booking services sank last August by 18.5% compared to the previous two years (respectively, 1, 1 billion rubles now and 1.4 billion rubles in 2020 and 2019).
