Data from Rosstat and the regional Ministry of Health on mortality from COVID diverged

In July, 188 residents of the Kaliningrad region who were diagnosed with COVID-19 died . For 185 of them, the coronavirus was the main confirmed cause of death, and for three it was the probable cause. Rosstat publishes vital statistics in July.

The increase in mortality, compared with the same period last year, is 1105.9%.

In January-July, 1125 patients with coronavirus died in the Kaliningrad region, and 1915 since the beginning of the pandemic.

At the same time, according to the regional operational headquarters, which relies on data from the Ministry of Health of the region, 692 deaths were recorded on the morning of August 31, and at the end of July there were 578.

According to the operational headquarters, 292,226 people have been vaccinated so far, of which 257,268 people have been vaccinated twice.
