April 1, MINSK . Belarus' retaliatory measures against Lithuania came into force today. The relevant resolutions of the Council of Ministers were published on, BELTA reports.

The Belarusian side decided to introduce previously announced measures in response to the unfriendly actions of the Republic of Lithuania to close two border checkpoints in 2024 . Thus, the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated March 14, 2024 No. 181 established a ban on the import of certain goods from Lithuania, including food , construction products and household appliances, and the Resolution dated March 14 No. 182 established a ban on the import of certain goods through the Belarusian-Lithuanian section of the state border.



According to Resolution No. 181, the list of goods prohibited for import and sale on the territory of Belarus includes certain goods originating from the Republic of Lithuania: condensed MILK and cream, fruits and nuts, coffee , fruit juices, water, vinegar, tights, stockings, knee socks, socks and other hosiery products, selected construction products, refrigerators and freezers.

The ban on the import of certain goods across the Belarusian-Lithuanian section of the state border, approved by Resolution No. 182, applies to the following goods: water, beer , wine, grape must, vermouth, other fermented drinks, ethyl ALCOHOL, vinegar, tires and pneumatic rubber tires, clothing and other used products, as well as used parts and accessories of vehicles. The document will last until October 1, 2024.

The main provisions of the resolutions came into force on April 1, 2024.
