NAIP named the most interesting Belarusian investment projects

December 9, Minsk. The National Investment and Privatization Agency has named 26 Belarusian investment projects that may be of the greatest interest to foreign businesses, BelTA learned from NAIP.

Specialists of the National Investment and Privatization Agency analyzed more than a thousand investment projects from the agency's database (map.investinbelarus.by) and identified 26 most promising proposals.

The projects cover various industries: woodworking (creation of a sawmill), tourism (opening of an ecotourism park), agriculture and food industry (plant protection system using drones, construction of a lupine processing plant, production of dry mare's milk), industry (construction of a plant for the production of oil and gas pipes) and others.

The geography of projects includes all regions of Belarus: Brest (Kobrin, section of the international highway), Vitebsk (Orsha, Novopolotsk), Gomel (Gomel, Zhlobin, Zhitkovichi), Grodno (FEZ "Grodnoinvest", Grodno), Minsk (Borisov, Logoisk, Smolevichi) , as well as the Mogilev region (Bobruisk, Mogilev, Khotimsk).

Deputy Director of NAIP Aleksey Pushkarev emphasized: “The task of creating a short catalog of investment projects is to show investors options for developing business in Belarus, to give food for thought. An investor is always interested in the balance of profitability and risk, so we chose the projects in the collection, in our opinion, the most balanced according to this criterion.

The projects were presented at the Belarusian Investment Forum in Dubai (UAE), which was held on November 22 as part of the National Day of Belarus at the global exhibition EXPO-2020. Especially for the forum, the agency issued a booklet in English Investment Projects for Implementation in the Republic of Belarus, in which you can find brief information about the selected projects.

Alexey Pushkarev noted that investors from the Gulf countries mainly apply to the agency in three areas: agriculture, logistics and real estate. “We try not to limit our proposals only to these industries, we also talk about other projects, success stories, preferential treatment. In the process of preparing and holding the Belarusian investment forum, we talked a lot with regional investment funds, consultants, businessmen who have already invested in our country. We talked about their goals and motivations, the factors that determined their decision, discussed the actual dynamics of the investment climate in Belarus. NAIP is constantly updating its package of project proposals and approaches to promoting the investment direction of Belarus," he stated.
