
November 10, MINSK. EXPORT of Belarusian agricultural products to Kazakhstan increased by 7.1% in January-September. This was discussed during a working meeting between the Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus Ivan Krupko and the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Yerbol Karashukeev, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
The prospects for bilateral cooperation in the agro-industrial complex were discussed, in particular, interaction in the fields of animal husbandry, crop production, agricultural education and science. it was also about mutual participation in agricultural exhibitions, a joint project for the production of veterinary drugs.
"Trade and economic cooperation in the agro-industrial sector between our countries is developing dynamically. Kazakhstan is the second largest market for Belarusian agricultural products and food products after RUSSIA. In 2020, the supply of Belarusian exporters of agricultural products and food products to Kazakhstan amounted to $271.9 million (an increase by 12.6%) In January-September 2021, agricultural exports amounted to $219.7 million, or 107.1% compared to the same period last year," the press service noted.
Traditionally, MEAT and dairy products, pedigree products, and SUGAR are supplied from Belarus to Kazakhstan. From Kazakhstan to Belarus - cotton fiber, vegetables, melons. In January-October 2021, 829 heads of live cattle of Belarusian selection were delivered to Kazakhstan (a two-fold increase compared to the same period in 2020).
Belarus is interested in increasing supplies of meat products, skimmed MILK powder, whole milk powder, butter, and other foodstuffs to Kazakhstan. The country is also ready to support the construction of dairy complexes in Kazakhstan in terms of their design, equipping with stall and milking equipment, supply of breeding products, training of agricultural personnel and professional consulting.
Interaction between relevant ministries is developing. As a result of the visit of the Belarusian delegation headed by First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Igor Brylo to Kazakhstan on November 3-5, contracts and agreements on cooperation in the design of a dairy farm, supply of equipment, livestock and food were signed.
