The list of recipients of state support involved in the processing of agricultural products in the YNAO will become wider. In addition to organizations, entrepreneurs are planned to be included in the list. They will be able to apply for assistance from March 1, 2022.
The bill was considered today in the Committee for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex and the Affairs of the Indigenous Minorities of the Legislative Assembly of the YaNAO. Committee Chairman Eduard Yaungad noted that the innovation will contribute to the development of processing and the expansion of the range of finished products. 11,000 tons of fish are harvested annually in the region, with the lion's share being sold outside the Autonomous Okrug. In the eastern part of the YNAO, only 28 percent is processed due to a lack of production capacity.
“There are already six potential investors who would like to open a fish processing plant with a total capacity of up to 500 tons per year. However, investing their own funds in the development of production, they cannot qualify for financial support from the district budget. By expanding the concept of “processors of agricultural products” to include “individual entrepreneurs”, we are not only bringing regional legislation in line with federal legislation, but also solving the problem of ensuring food security,” said Eduard Yaungad.
The deputies plan to amend the law tomorrow, December 16, at the plenary session of the Legislative Assembly of the YNAO. The innovation will affect not only the processing of fish, but also the harvesting of venison.
