December 3, MINSK . Belarus is expanding opportunities for selling its goods to Mongolia and the United Arab Emirates. These are bills that were ratified today by deputies at a regular meeting of the third session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the eighth convocation, BelTA reports.

The HEAD of state has set the goal of increasing exports and strengthening efforts in both core markets and distant countries. Joint, coordinated efforts within integration organizations offer significant potential in this regard. A prime example is the two international trade and economic agreements discussed by deputies today. As noted at the session, their ratification will allow Belarus, as a member of the Eurasian Economic Union, to expand opportunities for selling its goods to Mongolia and the UAE.

Two draft laws were presented to Belarusian parliamentarians: one on the ratification of the Interim Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and its Member States and Mongolia, and the other on the ratification of the Economic Partnership Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and its Member States and the United Arab Emirates.

Regarding cooperation with Mongolia, Deputy Foreign Minister Pavel Utyupin recalled that the draft law was prepared to express the Republic of Belarus's consent to be bound by the Interim Trade Agreement and its subsequent entry into force. According to the document, import duties in mutual trade will be reduced or eliminated for a limited range of goods.

The Deputy Minister explained that the Interim Trade Agreement with Mongolia is concluded for three years and is subsequently extended for another three years unless the parties agree otherwise. Within one year of the first three-year period, the parties will begin revising the international agreement to create a full-fledged free trade zone between the EAEU and Mongolia.

Regarding the expected economic impact on bilateral trade from the Interim Trade Agreement between Belarus and Mongolia, calculated based on foreign trade statistics for 2023, Pavel Utyupin noted that Mongolia's tariff concessions cover 92.3% of all Belarusian exports to that country. Annual savings on import duties on Belarusian exports to Mongolia will amount to approximately $1.4 million and will increase as Belarusian exports grow.

The Deputy Minister also highlighted promising products for increasing Belarus's exports to Mongolia. He singled out two groups. First, agricultural and food products, primarily powdered MILK , cheese , and butter .yogurt ,Ice cream . Among food products, sparkling wines, SUGAR , confectionery, chocolate, and baby food also have the greatest potential . The second group is mechanical engineering products , which traditionally generates great interest in the Mongolian market. A number of other products also have untapped potential.

Regarding the second document reviewed by deputies, the Standing Committee of the House of Representatives on International Affairs explained that the Economic Partnership Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and its member states, on the one hand, and the United Arab Emirates, on the other, is aimed at liberalizing and simplifying trade in goods and developing cooperation between the EAEU and its member states and the UAE. Ratification and implementation of the agreement's provisions will facilitate the expansion of trade relations between the EAEU and its member states and the UAE.

Trade agreements with Mongolia and the UAE were signed on June 27, 2025, in Minsk following a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. This was a significant achievement following the Republic of Belarus's chairmanship of the Eurasian Economic Union in 2025.
