Thailand plans to import Russian vaccine against covid-19 for animals. Yulia Melano, adviser to the HEAD of ROSSELKHOZNADZOR , told reporters about this .
"Rosselkhoznadzor, with the participation of a subordinate service of the Federal Center for Animal HEALTH, held talks with representatives of one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturers in Thailand. The negotiation process was initiated by the Thai side. During the video conference, the Thai side expressed interest in importing the drug, which is aimed at both domestic and wild animals," she said.
According to Melano, this is the largest manufacturer of nanonutraceutical drugs for humans and animals in the Kingdom of Thailand - Supreme Pharmatech Co., Ltd. Melano noted that, according to the representative of the Thai side, these risks are much higher for the Asian region due to the specifics of the life of the population, the large tourist flow and climate. In addition, the availability and use of a vaccine will reduce the likelihood of the new CORONAVIRUS infection, which is known to occur through cross-species transmission, to mutate. Such prevention in Thailand will be a serious positive argument for tourists who plan their holidays in the country, Melano added.
She added that during the negotiations, representatives of the Federal Center for Animal Health reported that they were ready to provide a trial batch of 10,000 doses. “For its part, the Thai pharmaceutical manufacturer promised to make every effort to negotiate with the state competent authorities of the kingdom on the possibility of prompt registration of the drug and permission to supply it to Thailand for commercial purposes,” said the adviser to the head of the department.
In the near future, specialists from the FGBU "ARRIAH", which is the developer of the vaccine, will send an EXPORT package of documents to the Thai colleagues. In addition, technical consultations will be held regarding the delivery of the drug to the territory of a foreign state. As a result of the negotiations, the Federal Center for Animal Health (FGBU "ARRIAH") subordinated to Rosselkhoznadzor and the largest manufacturer of nanonutraceutical drugs for humans and animals in Thailand signed a memorandum of understanding. The document provides for the assistance of the pharmaceutical company in matters of state registration and supply of a vaccine for the prevention of a new coronavirus infection in animals.
"During the negotiations, it was also noted that Argentina, SOUTH KOREA, Japan, the European Union, etc. have already shown interest in the world's first registered vaccine against COVID-19 for animals. In total, FGBI ARRIAH is currently supplying a variety of vaccines for animals in 21 countries of the world," Melano concluded.
On April 30, 2021, Melano announced that the scientific institute of Rosselkhoznadzor began to produce the Karnivak-Kov vaccine for animals. The maximum output can be 3 million doses per month. A batch of the produced vaccine was sent to Moscow, the Moscow Region, the Republic of Crimea, St. Petersburg, Vladimir, Kirov, Izhevsk, Irkutsk, Magnitogorsk, Novosibirsk, Ryazan, Chelyabinsk, Tver, Tolyatti. At the same time, the adviser to the head of the Rosselkhoznadzor announced that the Russian department was preparing the registration of a vaccine against COVID-19 for animals in the EU.
