MEAT producers were forced to raise prices for products in January by 5-7% due to the rise in fuel and gas prices.

The profile association says that if the government does not provide assistance, many will be bankrupt, aif.md writes with reference to bani.md.

“Production costs increased by 30-35% due to higher fuel and gas prices. If before the rise in gas prices, about 2 lei were spent per kilogram of meat, now it is more than 5 lei. The growth is significant,” said Evgeny Voinitsky, HEAD of the Association of Poultry Employers.

He added that at present many are operating at a loss, and if the situation does not change, they will be bankrupt. In this regard, manufacturers are asking for help from the government.
