On November 12, Brussels will host the first European Beef Sustainability Symposium, an international event that will highlight the sector's commitment to reducing emissions, improving soil quality and moving towards more sustainable models.

The event will bring together representatives of institutions, members of the European Parliament, researchers, producers, and specialist media in an open discussion platform that can be followed in person or online after registration.

The symposium is one of the highlights of the first year of the Sustainable European Beef (SEUB) programme, implemented by PROVACUNO and the Belgian agency Apaq-W with co-financing from the European Union.

The initiative, entitled "For a Sustainable Europe - A Special Mission for Beef", was officially launched in Madrid at the beginning of June and will be implemented over three years, from 2025 to 2027, in Spain and Belgium.

Learning, Technology and Sustainable Development

The Sustainability Symposium will showcase industry best practices and tools for continuous improvement, such as a new API that will automatically calculate emissions from livestock and factory farms, facilitating decision-making to reduce carbon footprints.

Key topics such as the role of livestock in rural development, soil restoration and the sector's adaptation to the climate challenges posed by the EU will also be addressed .
