
The previous record was recorded in 2022, when beef exports amounted to US $6.19 billion , according to data from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC), compiled and verified by the Brazilian Association of MEAT Exporting Companies (Abiec).
In June 2024 alone , beef exports reached 220,184 tonnes, valued at US$953 million. The result was slightly below record shipments recorded over the previous two months, according to Abiec and Beef Point.
The largest importers of Brazilian beef were: CHINA – imported 565,654 tonnes valued at US$2.5 billion, reflecting a volume increase of 10.2%.
United Arab Emirates – Imported approximately 95,000 tonnes, up 238% from the first half of 2023, valued at US$435 million.
US – 85,395 tonnes imported, up 19.7%, generating revenue of US$515 million. Hong Kong – 61,000 tonnes imported, up 10.6%, totaling US$196 million.
Chile – imported 48,726 tons, up 9.4%, for a total value of US$229 million.
Fresh beef exports , at 1.13 million tonnes, accounted for 87.7% of Brazil's total supply. Most of this fresh beef was boneless, accounting for 88% of the total. Access to bone-in meat exports is still limited in some countries due to certification requirements. The largest meat-on-the-bone market this year was Malaysia with 2,168 tonnes, followed by Paraguay (1,542 tonnes), Morocco (905 tonnes), Angola (619 tonnes) and Singapore (467 tonnes).
