The top five destinations include Chile, Russia , Brazil, Taiwan and Israel and account for 85.6% of shipments, with the remaining 14.4% being shared among the other 46 active markets in 2022.

According to statistics from the National Animal Health and Quality Service (SENACSA), from January to December 2022, 333,700 tons of beef were exported, and the main markets were Chile with a share of 40%, Russia with a share of 18.5%, Brazil with a share of 11.7 %. , Taiwan 11.1%, Israel 4.3% and others (46 markets) 14.4%.

From the Rural Association of Paraguay (ARP) it has been repeatedly stated that there is a great need to create a public policy to position Paraguayan meat in terms of quality and work to open up strategic markets. Over the past decade, Paraguay has positioned itself internationally on the basis of price, and the lack of positioning on the basis of quality prevents it from accessing more profitable markets. The creation of the Paraguayan Meat Institute is necessary to reverse this trend.

Paraguay is one of the ten largest exporters of meat in the world; however, it is absent from the market of the top four buyers, which are China , the United States , Japan, and South Korea, countries that account for 63% of the product's global purchases.

It is necessary to open markets and focus mainly on mainland China, which is the main buyer of meat in the world. The lack of progress in this direction represents a great disadvantage compared to competing countries in the international market; mainly countries of the region: Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay.
