Newcastle disease registered in Polish poultry farms - GAIN

The Polish veterinary authorities have taken all necessary measures to combat the disease, including culling all poultry on infected farms and defining restricted access zones (3 km and 10 km), as required by EU and Polish legislation.

Ukraine is the second largest recipient of Polish day-old chicks and other live poultry. According to Polish customs data provided by TDM LLC, from January to May 2023, the value of these exports increased by 71% compared to the same period in 2022, as Ukraine is rebuilding its poultry population. Among other products sold, chicken and poultry products had the highest value.

In addition, from 21 July 2023, in accordance with the decision published on the official website of the Department of Veterinary and Food Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus , restrictions were introduced on the import of goods originating from the Podlaskie Voivodeship due to the outbreak of Newcastle disease.
