The first million tons of SUGAR beets were harvested in the Krasnodar Territory, Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said.

“The Krasnodar Territory is the leading region of RUSSIA in terms of sugar beet harvesting and sugar production. To date, our farmers have already harvested the first million tons. 23.5 thousand hectares were processed - almost 12% of the plan. The average yield exceeds last year, so we expect to harvest about 9 million tons,” said Governor Veniamin Kondratyev.

Now 141 beet harvesters are working in the fields. 14 sugar factories are ready to accept and process beets. The average yield is 435.2 c/ha, which is 28.3 c/ha more than last year. In total, Kuban farmers will have to harvest 190,000 hectares in 26 municipalities. The largest areas are in Leningradsky, Pavlovsky, Vyselkovsky, Kanevsky and Kushchevsky districts. About 10.7 thousand hectares were sown with seed varieties of domestic selection. Their purchase is subsidized from the regional budget.
