A resident of Slonim received four years of "chemistry" for transporting marijuana across the border

October 27, Brest. The Brest transport prosecutor's office supported the state prosecution in COURT in a criminal case on the illegal movement of a drug across the border, as well as its storage and transportation, BelTA informs citing the information service of the regional prosecutor's office.

A resident of Slonim in one of the countries of the European Union bought at least 1.19 g of marijuana. He returned to Belarus by regular bus from Poland, crossed the border through the checkpoint "Warsaw Bridge". To hide the drug from customs control, the passenger hid it behind the armrest of the bus seat. When law enforcement officers discovered marijuana, the man was in a state of alcoholic and drug intoxication.

The Moscow District Court of Brest found the man guilty under Part 1 of Article 328-1 and Part 1 of Article 328 of the Criminal Code. He was sentenced to four years of restraint of liberty and sent to an open correctional facility.

The verdict has not entered into force. It can be appealed and protested on appeal.

Since the beginning of the year, 11 criminal cases have been initiated in the Brest region on the facts of illegal import of drugs and psychotropics into Belarus from abroad.
