Hooliganism, a threat to kill and an attempt on a policeman: the criminal case of a Vitebsk resident was sent to court

November 22, Vitebsk. The prosecutor's office of the Vitebsk region sent to the regional court a criminal case against a 68-year-old resident of the regional center, who was charged with hooliganism, a threat to kill, and attempted murder of an internal affairs officer. Such information is posted on the website of the General Prosecutor's Office of Belarus, BelTA informs.

According to the materials of the case, in May, out of hooligan motives, a pensioner from Vitebsk broke the glass in a car parked near his entrance with improvised means, causing harm to the owner of the car in the amount of more than Br420.

In July, while in his apartment, he made death threats against his wife, which forced the daughter of the victim to seek help from the internal affairs bodies.

Police officers arrived at the family scandal. With a knife in hand, the defendant pounced on one of them and inflicted five blows, breaking the blade of the knife. Only the special training of a law enforcement officer and the help of a partner did not allow the Vitebsk resident to realize his criminal intent.

The accused was arrested. The victim was provided with timely medical assistance. The accused's wife was not hurt. At the moment of commission of the specified crimes the pensioner was in a condition of alcoholic intoxication .

After studying the materials of the criminal case, the prosecutor's office of the Vitebsk region came to the conclusion that the accusation was justified and an objective study of the circumstances of the crimes. They agreed with the qualification of the deed under part 1 of article 339, article 186, part 1 of article 14 and article 362 of the Criminal Code.

The criminal case was under investigation by the department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus for the Vitebsk region. The prosecutor, when sending the case to court, chose the measure of restraint previously chosen for the accused, left it the same - detention.
