Today at 4.30 a.m., a 25-year-old driver of a BMW X5, while turning onto Bogdanovicha Street in Polotsk, drove onto a curb, rammed a traffic light and a street lighting pole. As a result, the SUV turned over. A 28-year-old passenger died from his injuries.Investigators determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol . In addition, he was repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility, including for violating traffic rules.
A criminal case has been initiated under the article "Violation of the rules of the road by a person driving a vehicle while intoxicated, resulting in the death of a person through negligence."
The driver has been arrested. He is under investigation.
