Safety first. Police at the Slavic Bazaar will switch to enhanced work mode

The work of checkpoints, additional patrols, a combined traffic police unit - as during the XXXIV International Arts Festival "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" law enforcement agencies will ensure the safety of participants and guests of the forum, the HEAD of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Internal Affairs Directorate Maksim Subbota told journalists, a BELTA correspondent reports.

Today, the work of all units that will be involved in the upcoming festival was checked near the Summer Amphitheater. Both the main and other stage areas will be under close supervision of law enforcement officers. For the duration of the large-scale event, all personnel will switch to an enhanced version of service. Vitebsk police officers will traditionally be assisted by colleagues from other regions of the country. The places of residence of participants and guests of the festival (hotels and hostels) will be taken under round-the-clock protection.

Spectators who will visit concert venues should remember that checkpoints will be operating at the sites, and therefore they should arrive for the artists' performances in advance. The Summer Amphitheater will have 4 checkpoints and 34 passages to the auditorium.Law enforcement officials remind that it is prohibited to bring flammable and explosive substances, alcohol-containing substances to concert venues, and it is also prohibited to enter concerts in a state ofALCOHOL intoxication . Minors should remember that after 23.00 they can only be on the street if accompanied by adults.

During the festival, the traffic flow in the city and its suburbs increases. In this regard, additional forces will be involved - the special traffic police unit "Strela" and the combined traffic police unit of the Vitebsk region. Motorcycle patrols will work in crowded places. Maxim Subbota emphasized that a lot of work has already been done to ensure the safety of guests and residents of Vitebsk and to organize public order. "Today we reviewed the personnel and equipment. The personnel of the internal affairs agencies are ready to ensure public order and security as part of the "Slavic Bazaar" festival," he emphasized, adding that before the large-scale forum, events dedicated to the day of the foundation of Vitebsk and the Independence Day of Belarus are also held in the city, and this is good training and hardening for people in uniform.
The main events of the XXXIV International Festival of Arts "Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk" will be held from July 10 to 13.
