
December 27, MINSK. Over the past week, 12 traffic accidents occurred on the roads of the region, as a result of which five people died and 10 were injured of varying severity. This was reported to BELTA by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Brest Regional Executive Committee.
For traffic violations, 1,191 pedestrians were brought to administrative responsibility, 176 of them were in a state of intoxication, 498 were moving at night without retroreflective elements.
326 drivers were held liable for failure to provide an advantage in traffic to pedestrians.
Traffic police detained 32 drivers for driving while intoxicated , 119 without the right to drive a vehicle. Over the weekend, three accidents were registered in the region, in which two people died and one was injured.
So, on December 24, at about 11.20 pm, a 24-year-old Brest resident, driving a Volkswagen, was moving along Tsentralnaya Street in the village of Zakiy and transporting a 20-year-old girl, towing a car wheel chamber with a flexible cable. According to preliminary information, in front of house 29, he allowed a towed device to skid, which collided with the gate of the fence. As a result of the accident, the girl was hospitalized with injuries.
On December 25, at about 1.30 am, an 18-year-old driver, driving a BMW car, was moving along the P105 Gantsevichi-Logishin highway. According to preliminary information, on the 7th km of the indicated road, he allowed the exit into a ditch. As a result of the accident, a 22-year-old passenger who was not wearing a seat belt died.
On the same day, at about 12.00, a 27-year-old driver, driving a Volkswagen Passat, was moving along Leninskaya Street in Mikashevichi. According to preliminary information, in front of house 84, he hit a 43-year-old local resident who was crossing the carriageway outside the pedestrian crossing. As a result of the accident, the pedestrian was hospitalized with injuries.
