Worked without a license and registration. Illegal activity in providing medical services has been stopped in Minsk

July 1, Minsk . The Office of the Financial Investigation Department of the State Control Committee for Minsk Region and Minsk has suppressed the illegal activities of an organized group in the sphere of providing medical services for detoxification of the body and drug treatment of withdrawal syndrome. This was reported to BELTA by the State Control Committee .

As operatives found out, the organizers of the criminal group were citizens of Belarus and Russia, who provided services without a special permit (license), as well as without registering a medical institution (clinic) in the established manner. An active marketing campaign allowed attracting hundreds of clients. For this, fake Internet sites of medical clinics were used, indicating contact phone numbers through which orders were accepted.

As a rule, patients with alcohol intoxication or their relatives called these numbers and left requests for a service to stabilize the body's condition. After receiving the requests, the members of the organized group notified the involved medical workers, who went to the patients. After performing the treatment , the medical workers accepted cash from the patients for the assistance provided, most of which was transferred to the organizers of the criminal scheme. The average cost of payment for the service was Br200-250.

Medical workers from various medical institutions, including former paramedics, were recruited to provide illegal services throughout the country

. Over the course of two years, the organizers of the illegal activity received income on an especially large scale. Currently, based on customer surveys alone, the proven amount of illegal income is more than $100 thousand in equivalent. At the same time, the real income of the business organizers is much higher. The illegal activity of the organized group was promptly and efficiently suppressed, which prevented it from becoming widespread.

Criminal cases have been initiated against the organizers under Article 233 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (illegal entrepreneurial activity), which provides for liability for conducting entrepreneurial activity without state registration or a special permit (license). They may face up to 7 years in prison.
