Drunk driver causes accident in Logoisk district, two children injured

On the evening of December 14, a resident of Lida was driving an Opel along the H8756 Luskovo-Belaruchi-Vesnino highway. The driver did not take into account the distance and collided with a Renault moving in front. As a result of the accident, the Opel driver and his minor passengers, aged 4 and 10, were hospitalized with abrasions and bruises. "It was established that the driver was in a state of alcoholic intoxication at the time of the incident," the Internal Affairs Directorate reported.

As the State Traffic Inspectorate reminded, driving a vehicle while intoxicatedalcohol intoxication, the administrative penalty depends on the concentration of alcohol in the blood or its vapor in the exhaled air: from 0.3 to 0.8 ppm - 100 basic units with deprivation of the right to drive for 3 years, over 0.8 ppm - 200 basic units with deprivation of the right to drive for 5 years. For a repeated violation within a year after the imposition of an administrative penalty, criminal liability is provided.

Road guards once again called on drivers to be prudent and strictly comply with traffic regulations. "Driving a vehicle while intoxicated is unacceptable. If you see that a drunk driver is getting behind the wheel , do not remain indifferent and report it by calling 102," the Department of Internal Affairs added.
