Emergencies Ministry: More than 60 people have died in fires since the beginning of December

December 27, MINSK . In Belarus, 455 fires occurred in December, killing 62 people. This was reported to BELTA by the Ministry of Emergency Situations .

The rescue agency noted that the main cause of fires with a tragic outcome was careless handling of fire while smoking. For this reason, 39 people died, of whom were in a state of21 people were intoxicated

. "If you can't give up smoking, do it safely. Wean yourself off smoking in bed, especially when intoxicated. Put out cigarette butts in a container with water, prepare a special place for smoking, if possible outside your home or apartment. Don't throw cigarette butts out of windows and balconies," the Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded of the safety rules.
