Two residents of Lida were sentenced to 2.5 years in prison for obscene photos and videos with the state flag

November 26, Minsk. The prosecutor's office of the Lida district supported in court the state prosecution against two non-working local residents who were charged with desecration of the symbols of the country, BelTA informs citing the information service of the prosecutor's office of the Grodno region.

According to the materials of the case, on the night of August 16, in a state of intoxication near one of the shops on Letnaya Street in Lida, they committed a number of illegal actions. One of the defendants, demonstrating an insulting and disdainful attitude towards the State Flag of Belarus, climbed onto the roof of this building and broke it out of the flagpole, damaging the flagpole. Then the young people took pictures with the flag, filmed a video with it in an obscene form. At the same time, the banner was repeatedly thrown on the ground and bushes.

The defendants admitted their guilt in full.

As a result, the court delivered a guilty verdict to both defendants: 2 years and 6 months in prison with serving in a penal colony.
