Four people were injured in two accidents involving public transport in Gomel

In Gomel, four people were injured in two accidents involving public transport, BelTA learned from the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Regional Executive Committee.

Both accidents occurred on April 12. So, at 11.16 on a bus that was traveling along the street. B. Khmelnitsky, a 72-year-old woman fell while braking. The passenger was taken to the hospital with injuries.

Another accident happened on the street. Soviet regional center at approximately 14.05. A 44-year-old trolleybus driver did not give the right of way when turning and collided with a minibus driven by a 56-year-old driver. As a result of the collision, minibus passengers, a 77-year-old woman, a 53-year-old woman, and a 17-year-old girl were injured. The victims were hospitalized.

The State Traffic Inspectorate added that over Friday and the weekend, State Traffic Inspectorate officers identified 2,080 violations of traffic rules in the region. Thus, 22 drivers were detained for driving while intoxicated, 44 did not have a license, 165 violated the speed limit, 110 did not give priority to pedestrians. Also, 243 pedestrian road users were brought to justice, of which 23 were intoxicated.
