
The harvest season is gaining momentum in the region. The Pervomaisky, Tomsky, Chainsky, and Shegarsky districts have joined the harvest.
As a reminder, the Kozhevnikovsky district was the first in the region to begin the harvesting campaign, followed by Asinovsky and Krivosheinsky. In the Shegarsky district, pea harvesting
has begun on the farms of Alexander Varfolomeyev and Ekaterina Zintsova . The Belostok agricultural cooperative has begun harvesting barley. 245 hectares have been cultivated, yielding 592 tons of produce. Overall, 8,730 hectares have been harvested in the Tomsk region, yielding 25,500 tons of grain and legume crops (6.1% of the planned yield). Agricultural land in the region is being treated for weeds, pests, and diseases. Herbicide treatment (the destruction or suppression of unwanted vegetation growth using chemicals) has been carried out on an area of almost 144,000 hectares. Insecticide treatment (the destruction of insect pests) has been carried out on 63,000 hectares. Fungicide treatment (plant protection from fungal diseases) has been carried out on an area of 98,000 hectares.
The forage harvesting campaign is actively underway in the region. 19.1 centners of forage units per conventional HEAD of peas have been harvested (with a plan of 29.7 centners of forage units). This includes 35,700 tons of hay, 137,200 tons of haylage, 42,900 tons of grain haylage, and 593 tons of straw.
The vegetable harvesting campaign has also begun in the Tomsk Region. 140 tons of cabbage, 20 tons of beets, and 0.4 tons of potatoes have already been harvested for sale to the public.
According to Evgeniya Bulkina, Head of the Department for Social and Economic Development of Rural Affairs in the Tomsk Region, farms in the region are experiencing no shortage of fuel and lubricants, and all machinery and equipment are fully operational. Livestock farms are preparing their livestock barns for the winter, in parallel with the harvest season.
