The rice brought from the field is first stored in a drying room. Rice is poured onto a special mesh floor, through which air is blown in and dried. On the first day, the air has a street temperature, which eventually warms up to 30 degrees, at which the rice dries for a week.
The air is heated by an electric motor. After drying, the rice is put back into the "porters" in which they were brought to the mill.
Dried rice falls on a vibrating table, where impurities are removed. Further along the elevator, it enters the machine, where, through double cleaning, it continues to remove impurities and debris.
After that, the rice is transferred to a silo, which holds about 140 kilograms, where it is polished with special hammers, which are driven by a water wheel, as in the days of the ancestors. This process takes 4 to 8 hours.
Rice together with the husk from the hoppers once again falls on the vibrating table, where the husk is separated from the rice through sieves. And also there is a division into two fractions: fine and broken rice in one direction, good rice in the other. After that, the rice is loaded into bags and, in principle, is ready for cooking pilaf.
The device of the water wheel that drives the hammers is very simple. Ditch with water, on which a metal wheel with blades is installed.
The average productivity of the rice cleaning plant is 4 tons per day, but the maximum values often reach 8 tons.
This mill has been operating since 1995 and structurally remained in the same form, because there is nothing special to break here, only the bearings that have flown have to be replaced periodically.
