Nizhny Novgorod agrarians have begun sowing fodder and oilseeds: 1.5 thousand hectares and 0.3 thousand hectares have been sown, respectively. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Nikolai Denisov.
“The sowing campaign in the region is gaining momentum - most of the municipalities have already joined in the work: sowing of grain, fodder and oilseeds is underway. The total area of ​​spring sowing today is 22,000 hectares,” said Nikolai Denisov.
The HEAD of the agrarian department noted that in order to form a good harvest of winter crops and perennial grasses, agricultural producers of the Nizhny Novgorod region carry out their feeding and harrowing. According to operational data as of April 27, 2022, mineral fertilizing of winter crops was carried out on an area of ​​137.2 thousand hectares (61% of the plan), perennial crops - on 37.6 thousand hectares (16%). Winter crops were harrowed on 40.5 thousand hectares (18% of the plan), perennial grasses - on 89.6 thousand hectares (36%). Autumn tillage was carried out on an area of ​​163.2 thousand hectares (40% of the plan).
“For sowing, farms have seeds of grain and vegetable crops, potatoes, sunflower, SUGAR beets in full. The delivery of the missing volumes of seeds of perennial grasses, corn and oilseeds is being completed,” Nikolay Denisov added.
As part of the spring field work, it is planned to use about 12 thousand units of agricultural equipment: 6.1 thousand tractors, 2 thousand plows, 1.9 thousand cultivators and combined units, 1.9 thousand seeders and sowing complexes, etc. the readiness of agricultural machinery in the farms of the Nizhny Novgorod region for the sowing campaign today is 97%.
Let us recall that about 5 billion rubles of subsidies have been allocated to support agricultural enterprises and the development of rural areas of the Nizhny Novgorod region this year, of which more than one billion rubles have already been distributed to agricultural producers. The funds were used to prepare for spring field work, purchase machinery and equipment, and support MILK production.
