During a working trip to the Lipetsk region, the Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev met with the head of the regional administration Igor Artamonov. The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the results of work and the potential of the agro-industrial complex of the subject, the development of rural areas and ensuring epizootic well-being.

Last year, the subject received record harvests of cereals and greenhouse vegetables. This, among other things, had a positive effect on the agricultural production index, which amounted to 106% and exceeded the Russian average. Separately, Dmitry Patrushev noted the impressive results in the cultivation of greenhouse vegetables. Every year the Lipetsk region strengthens its position in this direction. Over the past 5 years, the crop in greenhouses has increased by almost 5 times and, according to the forecast, in 2021 it can reach 170 thousand tons.

For the further development of greenhouse vegetable growing, the Ministry of Agriculture is implementing a set of state support measures. In particular, in addition, within the framework of the “stimulating” subsidy, a new priority area is provided - greenhouse vegetable growing. Preferential investment loans for the construction of greenhouses have been extended to 12 years. In addition, next year it is planned to implement a separate federal project aimed at stimulating open field vegetable growing and potato cultivation, with a set of support measures.

Land reclamation is an important factor in the systematic development of the region's agro-industrial complex. Now about 98% of the available reclamation farmland is involved in agricultural production. The Minister noted that this is a good indicator that must be maintained and strive for 100%.

The region also demonstrates decent indicators in dairy productivity. In particular, following the results of last year, the region became one of the leaders in the country in terms of milk yield. For 9 months of 2021, the indicator also shows growth.

According to Igor Artamonov, this year the Lipetsk Region has been recognized as the number one region in terms of stability in the development of the agro-industrial complex. “Our agriculture is innovative and investment-attractive, this is confirmed by the projects implemented in the region. In addition, the region has reserves for import substitution and has a good export potential. Undoubtedly, we were able to achieve such results thanks to significant government support and productive cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. I am sure that in the future our interaction will contribute not only to the development of the agro-industrial complex, but also to a significant improvement in the quality of life in rural areas,” the head of the regional administration emphasized.
