The Montenegrin government was unable to approve a package of sanctions against Russia due to disagreements over the procedure for deciding on the introduction of restrictive measures, as well as because of the "indecent behavior" of Foreign Minister George Radulovic. it is reported by Radio and Television of Montenegro (RTCG) with reference to the message of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country.
“The reason for interrupting the cabinet meeting is not only procedural, but [it] is also the expressed disrespect and indecent behavior of Minister Radulovic towards Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic,” the Montenegrin government said in a statement.
According to the CdM portal, citing sources, Krivokapic demanded that the decision to impose sanctions against Russia be made not by the Cabinet of Ministers, but only by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which was opposed by the head of the department, Radulovic. The minister pointed out that this issue, according to the Constitution, is within the competence of the government, and accused the prime minister of unwillingness to take responsibility for imposing sanctions.
RTCG, citing sources, clarifies that at the meeting between the ministers and the head of the Montenegrin government, harsh insults and mutual accusations were heard, and in some cases there was almost a physical conflict. The skirmish between Radulovic and Yakov Milatovich, who holds the post of Minister of Economic Development of Montenegro, was most noticeable, writes RTCG.
