Putin discussed anti-Russian sanctions with the Security Council

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with permanent members of the Security Council, according to the Kremlin website. At the meeting, the sanctions imposed against Moscow were discussed .

“Today we will discuss the measures that we are taking and must take to overcome the difficulties that some countries create in relation to RUSSIA,” the HEAD of state said, opening the meeting.

According to Putin, so far these countries have not succeeded in “anything worthwhile” in the “Russian direction”. “I’m sure it won’t work,” he added. However, the president noted, "one must be aware of the events that are taking place."

The meeting was attended by chairmen of the Federation Council and the State Duma Valentina Matvienko and Vyacheslav Volodin, head of the presidential administration Anton Vaino, deputy chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev and others. The President was the first to give the floor to Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

On the night of July 5, Putin met with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. He reported to the President on the growth of Russia's GDP by 5.4% May by May and noted that the increase in indicators was taking place despite the sanctions imposed in response to the special operation in Ukraine .
