The Kremlin, commenting on the imposition of sanctions, said that "hostile countries" would not be able to isolate Russia, and the country itself would not strive for isolation.

Representatives of the Russian leadership often use common phrases and expressions during press conferences and communication with journalists, considering this the right moment for jokes. So, on February 8, at a press conference, Putin, urging Ukraine to comply with the MINSK agreements, said: “Well, if you like it or not, be patient, my beauty. Must be fulfilled."

The Ukrainian leader, who had previously said that he did not agree with the terms of the Minsk agreements in Kyiv, answered the Russian president in absentia on the same day. “Of course, there are things that you can’t argue with the President of the Russian Federation – Ukraine is really a beauty. But as for “mine,” I think this is already too much,” Zelensky said. At the same time, he switched to Russian, so that, according to him, his answer would be better understood by the "author of the aphorism."
